Memory upgrades for Fujitsu PRIMERGY rack, tower, multi-node and GPU servers, from the S7 generation to M8. Each listing is matched to one PRIMERGY model and one memory type, using the speed, module sizes and capacities Fujitsu specifies for that model. This page explains how to identify your PRIMERGY server and which memory it takes. To go straight to the products, type your PRIMERGY model or Fujitsu part number into the search bar at the top of the page, or browse all Fujitsu PRIMERGY memory.

Find your PRIMERGY model first

The model name (for example PRIMERGY RX2540 M5 or TX300 S7) is on the front panel, the system ID card and the iRMC web interface. The letters give the form: RX is a rack server, TX a tower server, CX a node for the CX400 multi-node chassis, and GX a GPU server. The suffix gives the generation: M8 and M7 use DDR5, M6 and M5 use DDR4, S8 and S7 use DDR3. The single-socket RX1330, TX1330 and TX1320 M6 use DDR5 ECC UDIMM, and the AMD RX2450 M2 and RX1440 M2 use DDR5. Memory that Fujitsu supplied carries a part number starting S26361-F (older models) or PY-ME (newer models).

Which memory does my PRIMERGY server take?

  • M8 (Intel Xeon 6): DDR5-6400 RDIMM 16GB to 128GB; 6400 MT/s at one DIMM per channel, 5200 at two. RX2530 M8 and RX2540 M8 take up to 4TB in 32 slots with 128GB modules.
  • M7 (4th and 5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable): DDR5-5600 RDIMM on RX2530, RX2540 and TX2550 M7; DDR5-4800 RDIMM on RX4770, RX8770, CX2550, CX2560 and GX2560 M7. 16GB to 64GB, plus 96GB on RX2530 and RX2540 M7.
  • M6 single-socket (RX1330, TX1330, TX1320 with Xeon E-2400 or Xeon 6300P): DDR5-4800 ECC UDIMM 16GB and 32GB, up to 128GB in 4 slots.
  • RX2450 M2 and RX1440 M2 (AMD EPYC 9004 / 9005): DDR5 RDIMM 16GB to 128GB; memory runs at 4800 MT/s with EPYC 9004 and up to 6000 MT/s with EPYC 9005.
  • M6 (3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable): DDR4-3200 RDIMM 8GB to 64GB or LRDIMM 64GB and 128GB. RX2530 M6 and RX2540 M6 take up to 4TB in 32 slots.
  • M5 (2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable): DDR4-2933 RDIMM 8GB to 64GB or LRDIMM 64GB and 128GB. RX2530 M5 and RX2540 M5 take up to 3TB in 24 slots; the 128GB LRDIMM needs an M-series processor.
  • M5 single-socket (RX1330, TX1330, TX1320, TX1310 with Xeon E-2300): DDR4-3200 ECC UDIMM 8GB to 32GB, up to 128GB in 4 slots.
  • RX2450 M1 (AMD EPYC 7002 / 7003): DDR4-3200 RDIMM 16GB to 64GB or LRDIMM 64GB and 128GB, up to 4TB in 32 slots.
  • S8 (Xeon E5-2600 v2): DDR3-1866 RDIMM 8GB and 16GB, or 32GB DDR3-1866 LRDIMM, in 24 slots.
  • S7 (Xeon E5-2600): DDR3-1600 RDIMM 8GB and 16GB, or 32GB DDR3L-1333 LRDIMM, in 24 slots.

Rules that apply across PRIMERGY servers

  • RDIMM or LRDIMM, never both. On DDR4 and DDR3 servers, Fujitsu does not allow registered and load-reduced modules in the same server. Match what is installed, or replace every module.
  • One module type per server. Fujitsu also does not mix x4 and x8 RDIMMs. Using one module size throughout avoids both problems.
  • The processor sets the speed. A DDR4-2933 or DDR4-3200 module runs at the speed the installed Xeon supports, for example 2666 MT/s with Gold 5200 or 2933 MT/s with Gold 5300.
  • Single-socket Intel models take ECC UDIMM only. RDIMMs and LRDIMMs will not work in the RX1330, TX1330, TX1320 or TX1310 (DDR4 on M5, DDR5 on M6).
  • Not offered. 3DS RDIMMs (128GB 4Rx4 and 256GB DDR5), MRDIMMs and Intel Optane persistent memory.
  • DDR3 voltage. 1.5V is Fujitsu's default memory voltage for maximum speed on S7 and S8 servers; low-voltage LRDIMMs run at 1.35V.

Ordering by Fujitsu part number

If you are replacing or adding to Fujitsu-supplied memory, these Fujitsu options (S26361-F part numbers on older servers, PY-ME order codes on newer ones) match the specifications of NEMIX RAM modules. Searching any of them in the search bar also finds the right listings.
