Telecom, Network Appliance and Edge Server Memory by System
Memory for the edge servers and network appliances that sit at the edge of a network: remote sites, branch and retail locations, cabinets and closets, and compact rack systems that run virtualized network functions, local compute and inference close to where data is created. Each listing is matched to the maker's memory specification for the model: generation, module type, speed and ECC support. NEMIX RAM lists 82 edge and network appliance system listings from eight families below, from current DDR5 edge servers to DDR3L appliances that are still in service. If you manage one site or hundreds, this page is the map.

| QNAP QuCPE | QuCPE network appliances | 4 | DDR4; UDIMM, RDIMM; ECC and non-ECC | QNAP hub page |
Each listing is one system model with the module type, speed and capacities it takes. The telecom, network and edge memory guide links every one of the 82 listings by model, grouped by module type. Related catalogs: Cisco UCS server memory (50 listings), Supermicro IoT and embedded SuperServers (201) and ASRock Industrial (327), which includes iEPF expandable edge systems.
What memory do edge servers and network appliances use?
| System class | Module type | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Edge servers | ECC RDIMM or LRDIMM, DDR4 or DDR5 | Dell XR, Lenovo ThinkEdge, HPE edge, QCT QuantaEdge, ASUS and GIGABYTE edge |
| Edge servers with UDIMM | ECC or non-ECC UDIMM, DDR5 | GIGABYTE E133 series |
| Network appliances and uCPE | UDIMM, RDIMM or SODIMM by model | MSI N-series, QNAP QuCPE |
Across the 82 listings, 56 take RDIMM, 9 take LRDIMM, 15 take UDIMM and 2 take SODIMM; 44 are DDR5, 37 are DDR4 and 1 are DDR3L. Module types and generations are not interchangeable, and each generation has its own slot key. Some firewall, router and switch vendors supply memory only under their own part numbers or solder it to the board; those systems have nothing to list. If your appliance has a standard memory slot and is not listed, send us the model and we will check.
Browse by module specification
If you know the module rather than the system, browse the DDR5 RDIMM, DDR4 RDIMM, DDR4 LRDIMM, DDR4 ECC UDIMM, DDR5 ECC UDIMM and DDR4 non-ECC SODIMM collections, or the full memory by specification page.
