Memory for gaming laptops, gaming desktops, gaming motherboards and creator machines, matched to the exact model: generation, module type and speed. Gaming systems are sold in many configurations that look alike and take different memory, so this page starts from your system rather than from a speed on a box. The families below link to the NEMIX RAM catalog for each brand.

Listing counts are live collection counts and grow as models are added. The gaming PC and laptop memory guide explains how to identify your model, choose between SODIMM and UDIMM, pick capacity and install.

What memory do gaming systems use?

System Module type What to check
Gaming laptops SODIMM, usually DDR5 on current models and DDR4 on earlier ones Some models have memory soldered to the board, or one slot beside soldered memory
Gaming desktops and towers UDIMM, DDR4 or DDR5 Dual-channel kits of two modules, and the slot layout in the manual
Gaming motherboards UDIMM, DDR4 or DDR5 The board's memory support list, chipset and number of slots

Generations are not interchangeable: DDR4 and DDR5 have different slot keys. Each listing states the speed it is matched to, and a system runs memory at the speed its processor and board support. Memory on a gaming system should be non-ECC unless the maker lists ECC.

Creator machines

Video, photo, 3D and audio work is limited by capacity as much as by speed. For Apple computers see the Apple memory page. For creator laptops and boards from ASUS and MSI, use the ASUS and MSI hubs above.

Looking for a different kind of memory?

Professional workstations are on the workstation memory page, office laptops and desktops are on the business fleet memory page, and servers are on the data center and server memory page. For a module-first search, use memory by specification. The full list of industries is on the shop by industry page.
