DDR3 ECC UDIMM is a 240-pin memory module available in 8GB modules. There is no variation of rank or voltage for DDR3 8GB ECC UDIMM so upgrades are usually pretty standards providing that your system accepts ECC. Please do not mix-72 bit ECC and 64-bit non-ECC memory; it will not work.
DDR4 ECC UDIMM is 288-pin, 72-bit, 1.2V memory module available in 4GB / 8GB / 16GB / 32GB density. Speeds (or frequency) is available in 2133 / 2400 / 2666 / 2933 / 3200. PCB heights are available in standard and low profile modules although low profile ECC UDIMMs are generally much more expensive to manufacture.
