BIOSTAR Memory: EdgeComp Industrial PCs and Industrial Motherboards
Memory upgrades for BIOSTAR EdgeComp industrial and edge PCs and BIOSTAR industrial motherboards, from single-slot Intel N150 systems to four-slot ATX boards for Core Ultra 200 processors. NEMIX RAM has 28 BIOSTAR listings, each matched to one model using the memory type, speed, slot count and maximum BIOSTAR specifies. Type your BIOSTAR model number into the search bar at the top of the page, find it in the tables below, or browse all BIOSTAR memory.
Find your BIOSTAR model first
EdgeComp systems are complete fanless PCs; their names start with MU, MS or MT followed by the processor (for example EdgeComp MS-N97 or MS-1335U). BIOSTAR industrial motherboards have names such as BIQ87-AHS or BITWL-IHT, printed on the board itself. The model decides the memory: a DDR5 SODIMM system, a DDR4 SODIMM board and a DDR5 UDIMM ATX board each take a different module.

Models without upgradeable memory
Some BIOSTAR models have no replaceable memory, so there is nothing to upgrade: the NVIDIA Jetson-based EdgeComp MS-NAT4000, MS-NAT5000, MS-NANO and MS-NANX systems and the AI-NONXS and AI-NAGXT carrier boards use LPDDR memory built into the Jetson module, and the Arm-based ERX93-AXP has its memory on the board.
Models we are confirming
We are confirming the memory configuration of the EdgeComp MT-N97, MS-X6413E, MS-J6412, MT PRO-J6412 and MT-J6412 and the BIH61-IHP and EIB7B-AXI boards with BIOSTAR. If you run one of these, send us the model number and we will match the module.
Rules that apply across BIOSTAR industrial products
- SODIMM or UDIMM. EdgeComp systems and the compact boards take laptop-size SODIMMs; the ATX boards (BIQ87, BIW88, BIQ67, BIW68, BIH61, BIH11) take full-size UDIMMs. They are not interchangeable.
- DDR5 or DDR4. The two generations are keyed differently and will not fit each other's slots.
- ECC only on the BIW88-AHS and BIW68-AHP. These two workstation-class boards take ECC or non-ECC unbuffered memory; every other BIOSTAR industrial product takes non-ECC. No BIOSTAR industrial product takes registered RDIMMs. Do not mix ECC and non-ECC modules.
- Single-slot systems take one module. Choose the capacity you need, up to the listed maximum; two-slot systems run best with a matched pair.
- Speed follows the platform. Modules run at the speed the processor supports. The BIPTL-IHT and BIWCL-PAT are rated for DDR5 above 5600 MT/s; the DDR5-5600 modules listed for them run at 5600.
Why NEMIX RAM for BIOSTAR memory
NEMIX RAM is a US-based memory specialist, in business since 1993. Every module is researched, matched, and compatibility-tested by NEMIX RAM, is JEDEC-compliant, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. Each BIOSTAR listing names the exact model it fits and states the slot count and maximum BIOSTAR specifies for it.
Integrators, kiosks and edge deployments
BIOSTAR EdgeComp systems and industrial boards go into kiosks, digital signage, factory automation, machine vision and edge AI deployments, usually in fleets. Purchase orders, net terms and volume pricing are available for system integrators, OEM builders, resellers, schools and government buyers. Request a quote for a deployment, or send us your BIOSTAR model numbers and we will confirm the right module before you order.
Frequently asked
Does my EdgeComp system take laptop or desktop memory?
Every EdgeComp system we list takes SODIMMs, the laptop-size module: DDR5 on current models. Desktop UDIMMs will not fit.
Can I use ECC memory in my BIOSTAR board?
Only the BIW88-AHS and BIW68-AHP support ECC, and they take unbuffered ECC UDIMMs, not registered server memory. Every other BIOSTAR industrial product takes non-ECC memory.
How much memory can I install?
Each listing states the slot count and the maximum BIOSTAR specifies for that model: 16GB on the single-slot N150, N97 and Atom systems, up to 128GB on the two-slot Core boards, and up to 192GB on the BIQ87-AHS and BIW88-AHS.
My Jetson-based EdgeComp needs more memory. Can you help?
No. The MS-NANO, MS-NANX and MS-NAT systems use memory built into the NVIDIA Jetson module, which cannot be replaced or added to.
