MSI Memory: Motherboards, Servers, Industrial PCs & Business Desktops
Memory upgrades for MSI motherboards (MEG, MPG, MAG and PRO), MSI servers and server boards, MSI industrial motherboards, box PCs and panel PCs, and MSI PRO and Modern business desktops and all-in-ones. Every listing is matched to one MSI model, using the memory type, speed and module sizes MSI specifies. This page explains how to identify your MSI system and which memory it takes. To go straight to the products, type your MSI model or part number into the search bar at the top of the page.
Find your MSI model first
The model name is printed on the motherboard and the box (for example MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI or MPG Z790 CARBON WIFI). MSI servers and industrial products carry the model on the system label, for example S5062X270RAU8 or MS-98K9.

Which memory does my MSI system take?
- MEG, MPG, MAG and PRO motherboards: DDR5 or DDR4 non-ECC UDIMM matched to the board.
- MSI servers: DDR5 RDIMM on Xeon 6, Xeon Scalable and AMD EPYC platforms; ECC or non-ECC UDIMM on entry platforms such as EPYC 4004 and Xeon E-2400.
- Industrial boards, box PCs and panel PCs: mostly SODIMM (some ECC SODIMM); several boards take DDR3L.
- PRO and Modern all-in-ones and desktops: SODIMM in all-in-ones, UDIMM in towers.
Rules that apply across MSI systems
- Desktop and gaming boards take unbuffered memory. Most take non-ECC UDIMMs; workstation-class chipsets (W680, W790, W880, TRX50, WRX90 and AMD AM5 boards that support it) also take ECC UDIMMs, and Xeon W and Threadripper PRO boards take registered RDIMMs. Each listing names the type its board takes.
- Install matched pairs (or matched sets of four) for dual-channel operation, in the slots the board manual names first.
- Laptops, mini PCs and all-in-ones take SODIMMs; towers and small form factor desktops take UDIMMs. Some models have memory soldered to the board alongside one slot, or no replaceable slot at all; we list only models with a replaceable slot.
- Install matched pairs for dual-channel operation where the system has two or more slots.
- Registered or unbuffered, never both. Servers built on Xeon Scalable, Xeon 6, Xeon W-2400/3400 and AMD EPYC take registered memory (RDIMM or LRDIMM); entry servers on Xeon E, Xeon 6300, EPYC 4004 and similar take ECC unbuffered UDIMMs. Each listing names the type its system takes.
- Do not mix RDIMMs with LRDIMMs, or 3DS with standard RDIMMs, in the same system.
- Fill memory channels in matched groups of identical modules: six or eight per processor on Intel Xeon Scalable and Xeon 6, eight or twelve on AMD EPYC.
- Match the generation. DDR5, DDR4 and DDR3 modules are keyed differently and will not fit each other's slots.
- Speed follows the platform. Faster modules clock down automatically to the speed the processor and slot population support.
Why NEMIX RAM for MSI memory
NEMIX RAM is a US-based server memory specialist, in business since 1993. Every module is researched, matched, and compatibility-tested by NEMIX RAM, is JEDEC-compliant, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. Each MSI listing names the exact model or part number it fits, so there is no guesswork about module type, speed or capacity.
System builders, integrators and IT fleets
Purchase orders, net terms and volume pricing are available for system builders, industrial integrators, IT departments, schools and resellers. Request a quote for a batch of identical systems or a fleet upgrade, or send us your model or part number and we will confirm the right module before you order.
Frequently asked
Which memory speed should I pick for my MSI motherboard?
Each listing offers the speeds MSI supports for that board. Two matched modules give the best balance of speed and stability on most DDR5 boards.
Do MSI industrial PCs take standard laptop memory?
Most take standard SODIMMs; some industrial boards require ECC SODIMMs or DDR3L. Each listing names the exact type.
How do I find my MSI server model?
It is on the system label and in the BMC web interface, for example S5062X270RAU8.
