Memory upgrades for ASRock motherboards, ASRock Rack server boards and systems, ASRock mini PCs, workstation boards and ASRock Industrial boards. Every listing is matched to one ASRock model, using the memory type, speed and module sizes ASRock specifies for it. This page explains how to identify your ASRock system and which memory it takes. To go straight to the products, type your ASRock model or part number into the search bar at the top of the page.

Find your ASRock model first

The model name is printed on the motherboard (usually between the memory slots and the processor socket or along the board edge) and on the box. ASRock Rack boards and systems carry the model on the board silkscreen and the system label, for example ROMED8-2T, GENOAD8X-2T, B650D4U or W680D4U. Mini PCs carry it on the label underneath.

Which memory does my ASRock system take?

  • Desktop motherboards (Intel 600/700/800 Series, AMD AM5 and AM4): DDR5 or DDR4 non-ECC UDIMM, matched to the board. Some AMD and Intel W-series boards also accept ECC UDIMMs; each listing says so.
  • ASRock Rack server boards and systems: registered RDIMM or LRDIMM on Xeon Scalable, Xeon 6 and AMD EPYC platforms; ECC UDIMM on Xeon E, Xeon 6300 and AM5 server boards.
  • Workstation boards (W790 WS, WRX90 WS EVO, TRX50 WS): DDR5 RDIMM.
  • Mini PCs and industrial boards: mostly SODIMM; some industrial boards take UDIMM or ECC memory.

Rules that apply across ASRock systems

  • Desktop and gaming boards take unbuffered memory. Most take non-ECC UDIMMs; workstation-class chipsets (W680, W790, W880, TRX50, WRX90 and AMD AM5 boards that support it) also take ECC UDIMMs, and Xeon W and Threadripper PRO boards take registered RDIMMs. Each listing names the type its board takes.
  • Install matched pairs (or matched sets of four) for dual-channel operation, in the slots the board manual names first.
  • Registered or unbuffered, never both. Servers built on Xeon Scalable, Xeon 6, Xeon W-2400/3400 and AMD EPYC take registered memory (RDIMM or LRDIMM); entry servers on Xeon E, Xeon 6300, EPYC 4004 and similar take ECC unbuffered UDIMMs. Each listing names the type its system takes.
  • Do not mix RDIMMs with LRDIMMs, or 3DS with standard RDIMMs, in the same system.
  • Fill memory channels in matched groups of identical modules: six or eight per processor on Intel Xeon Scalable and Xeon 6, eight or twelve on AMD EPYC.
  • Match the generation. DDR5, DDR4 and DDR3 modules are keyed differently and will not fit each other's slots.
  • Speed follows the platform. Faster modules clock down automatically to the speed the processor and slot population support.

Why NEMIX RAM for ASRock memory

NEMIX RAM is a US-based server memory specialist, in business since 1993. Every module is researched, matched, and compatibility-tested by NEMIX RAM, is JEDEC-compliant, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. Each ASRock listing names the exact model or part number it fits, so there is no guesswork about module type, speed or capacity.

System builders, integrators and data centers

Purchase orders, net terms and volume pricing are available for system builders, integrators, data centers, schools and resellers. Request a quote for a batch of identical builds or a server refresh, or send us your model or part number and we will confirm the right module before you order.

Frequently asked

Does my ASRock gaming motherboard support ECC memory?
Some do: many AMD AM5 and AM4 boards accept ECC UDIMMs when paired with a processor that supports ECC, and the Intel W680 and W880 boards do with supported processors. If the listing for your board offers ECC UDIMMs, ECC is supported.

What is the difference between ASRock and ASRock Rack?
ASRock makes desktop, gaming and mini PC products; ASRock Rack makes server motherboards and systems. Server boards usually take registered or ECC memory, desktop boards take non-ECC UDIMMs.

How do I find my board model?
It is printed on the board and on the box. You can also read it in the UEFI setup screen or with a system information utility in your operating system.
