Description
NEMIX RAM memory upgrades for the HP Z840 Workstation: DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 ECC Registered (RDIMM) modules, 8GB and 16GB, sold as single modules and matched kits of up to 16, selected as drop-in, compatibility-tested replacements. 1.2V, 288-pin, JEDEC-compliant.
The HP Z840 Workstation is built for one or two Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3/v4 processors. It has 16 DDR4 DIMM slots and supports up to 256GB with 16GB RDIMMs. HP lists DDR4-2400 registered memory for the Z840; the processor sets the running speed (2400, 2133 or 1866 MT/s). Eight slots serve each processor; a one-processor system has 8 slots. HP supports up to 256GB with RDIMMs and up to 1TB with LRDIMMs; RDIMMs and LRDIMMs cannot be mixed. Install identical modules in matched sets, following the slot order HP gives for each processor; the system runs memory at the speed its processor supports.
