Posiflex, founded in 1984 and headquartered in Taiwan, makes point-of-sale terminals, self-service kiosks, kitchen displays and box PCs that run in retail stores, restaurants, hotels and stadiums. NEMIX RAM has 217 memory listings for Posiflex systems, each matched to one model. This guide explains which memory each Posiflex line takes and how to find the right listing for yours.

The short answer: every upgradeable Posiflex system takes non-ECC SODIMM. Current N150 and 13th Gen Core models take DDR5, mainstream models from the last few years take DDR4-3200, and older terminals take DDR4-2400, DDR4-2133 or DDR3-1333. Our 217 listings split into 34 DDR5, 131 DDR4 and 52 DDR3.

Find your model first

The model number is on the label on the base or back of the terminal or kiosk. Read all of it, because the suffix decides the memory:

  • -G2 and -G3 mark a newer generation on a different processor. The XT-8315 takes DDR4-3200; the XT-8315-G2 takes DDR5.
  • R4 on an N150 model marks the DDR4 version. The GT-2115 takes DDR5-4800 and the GT-2115-R4 takes DDR4-3200.
  • Letter variants such as E, Q or IR have their own listings, so search the exact model number.

Type the model, for example XT-8315-G2, GT-2115, EK-2452 or SCO-1652-FS, into the search bar at the top of the page to go straight to its listing.

Posiflex POS terminals

This is the largest group: 133 listings. The XT (JIVA) range covers fanless, foldable and infrared-touch terminals; GT, RT, ZT and PS cover the current and recent mainstream terminals; KS, BT, PC, HC and KDS cover compact fanless terminals, Mozart terminals, infotainment terminals and kitchen displays.

Posiflex kiosks

The kiosk range is 58 listings across Stellar and Paragon (TK), Cachet (JK), Mercury (EK), HK, self-checkout (SCO) and AI food recognition (FR) kiosks. Many kiosks have a single SODIMM slot, so you choose one module up to the maximum listed for the model.

  • DDR5 kiosks: the 13th Gen Core versions such as JK-2462, with DDR5-5600 modules running at 5200 MT/s.
  • DDR4-3200 kiosks: most self-checkout models, such as SCO-1652-FS, and the Mercury EK-1632.
  • DDR3 kiosks: older Stellar, Paragon and Mercury units that are still in service.

Posiflex all-in-ones and box PCs

HS all-in-one terminals combine the display, computer and a built-in printer, and the HS-2x10W models are sold as JIVA desktop POS systems. TX models are box and mini PCs that sit behind or under the counter. The HS-3610W takes DDR4-3200, the HS-6710W takes DDR4-2400, and the TX range runs from DDR4-2666 on the TX-2300 to DDR5 on the TX-2300-G3 and TX-7000E.

Memory by processor platform

Posiflex publishes the slot count and the maximum memory for each model, and the memory type and speed follow the processor. If you know the platform, you know the memory.

Models that cannot be upgraded

Android and ARM versions of Posiflex systems, using the Rockchip RK3399 or MediaTek Genio G700, have memory soldered to the board. There are 30 of these models and none takes a module. Most of the model numbers end in A, or, on kiosks, in 10, 11, 20 or 21 (such as EK-1510 or TK-2121), so check the label before you order. The full list is on our Posiflex memory page.

How to choose the right module

1. Match the generation

DDR5 (262-pin) and DDR4 (260-pin) SODIMMs are keyed differently and do not fit each other's slots. DDR3 is a third, older key. The generation is set by the processor, so go by the model number and not by the look of the terminal.

2. Respect the slot count

Single-slot models take one module, up to the maximum Posiflex specifies. Two-slot models run best with a matched pair of identical modules.

3. Standardize across the fleet

If you maintain many units, pick one configuration per model and use it everywhere. It makes replacements and spares simple.

Buying for stores, restaurants and POS deployments

Posiflex terminals and kiosks run in fleets: store chains, quick-service restaurants, hospitality groups, stadiums, and the dealers who install and support them. Purchase orders, net terms and volume pricing are available for multi-site operators, POS resellers, system integrators, and government and education buyers. Request a quote for a refresh or a rollout, or send us your Posiflex model numbers and we will confirm the right module for each before you order.

Frequently asked questions

What memory does a Posiflex POS terminal take?

Posiflex terminals, kiosks, all-in-ones and box PCs use non-ECC SODIMM, the small laptop-style module. The generation depends on the processor: current N150 and 13th Gen Core models take DDR5, models on 11th Gen Core and Elkhart Lake take DDR4-3200, and older terminals take DDR4-2400, DDR4-2133 or DDR3-1333.

My Posiflex model ends in -G2 or -G3. Does it take the same memory as the original?

Not always. A G2 or G3 version often moves to a newer processor, and the memory generation can change with it. The XT-8315 takes DDR4-3200 SODIMM, while the XT-8315-G2 takes DDR5. Each generation has its own listing, so search the full model number from the label.

What is the difference between a GT-2115 and a GT-2115-R4?

Both use the Intel N150 processor. The standard version takes a DDR5-4800 SODIMM, and the R4 version takes a DDR4-3200 SODIMM. DDR5 and DDR4 modules are keyed differently and do not fit each other's slots, so check the model number before you order.

Why do some DDR5 listings say they run at 5200 MT/s?

Posiflex systems on 13th Gen Intel Core processors support DDR5-5200. The listing is a standard DDR5-5600 SODIMM, which runs at the 5200 MT/s the processor supports. A faster module is safe in a slower system.

Which Posiflex systems have no memory slot?

Android and ARM versions with a Rockchip RK3399 or MediaTek Genio G700 processor have memory soldered to the board, so they take no module and cannot be upgraded. There are 30 such models in the current Posiflex catalog, and they are listed on our Posiflex memory page.

Can I add a module to the memory already installed?

On two-slot models, yes, if the new module matches the installed one in generation, capacity and speed. For a fleet, the simplest approach is one identical configuration across every unit: send us the model numbers and the current configuration and we will match it.
