The NEMIX RAM UGREEN catalog covers every upgradeable NASync model UGREEN sells in the US: 13 listings for 11 models, from the single-slot DXP2800 to the eight-bay DXP8800 Ultra. Nine Intel-based models take DDR5 SODIMMs; the two AMD-based GT models take DDR4 SODIMMs, and for those we list both ECC and non-ECC modules. This guide explains which memory fits each NASync, how much to install and where UGREEN's model names can catch you out.
The short answer: read the full model name, including Plus, Pro, Ultra or GT, from the label or from UGOS Pro, then order the listing for that model. Intel DXP models take non-ECC DDR5; GT models take DDR4, ECC or non-ECC. Each listing offers only the module sizes and kits that fit.

Step 1: Read the full model name
The model is printed on the label underneath or on the back of the unit, and UGOS Pro shows it in the device information panel. The suffix matters more than the number. Four NASync units share the "DXP4800" name, and each takes different memory:
- The DXP4800 has an Intel N100 and one DDR5 slot.
- The DXP4800 Plus has a Pentium Gold 8505 and two DDR5 slots, to 64GB.
- The DXP4800 Pro has a Core i3-1315U and two DDR5 slots, to 96GB.
- The DXP4800 GT has an AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514 and takes DDR4, with ECC and non-ECC listings.
The same applies to the DXP2800 and DXP2800 GT, and to the DXP6800 Pro and DXP6800 Ultra. A DDR4 module will not seat in a DDR5 slot, so match the full name before ordering.
Step 2: DDR5 for Intel, DDR4 for the GT
Every Intel-based NASync takes DDR5 SODIMM, the laptop-size module. Our listings use DDR5-4800 modules; a DDR5 module runs at the speed the processor supports, so there is no benefit to paying for a faster one. The DXP2800 GT and DXP4800 GT use AMD's Ryzen Embedded R2514 and take DDR4-3200 SODIMM. All DDR5 NASync listings are also in the DDR5 non-ECC SODIMM collection, and the GT listings in DDR4 ECC SODIMM and DDR4 non-ECC SODIMM.
Step 3: ECC only on the GT models
The GT models are the only NASync units that accept ECC memory. They ship with a non-ECC module, and UGREEN states the platform supports ECC, so we list both: DXP2800 GT ECC, DXP4800 GT ECC. ECC corrects single-bit memory errors before they reach your data, which is worth having on a NAS that runs around the clock. If you switch to ECC, replace the factory module rather than mixing ECC and non-ECC.
The Intel DXP models take non-ECC DDR5 only. UGREEN's spec sheets list "ODECC" for them: that is the on-die ECC inside every DDR5 chip, and it does not mean the NAS accepts ECC modules.
Step 4: Choose the capacity and the kit
- One-slot models. The DXP2800 and DXP4800 have a single slot, so the new module replaces the factory 8GB module. UGREEN rates them for 16GB, and UGREEN's own compatibility list includes a 32GB module, so we offer 8GB, 16GB and 32GB.
- Two-slot models. Install a matched pair for dual-channel operation: 2×16GB gives 32GB, 2×32GB gives 64GB. Replacing the factory module with a matched kit usually gains more than adding a mismatched second module.
- 96GB models. The DXP4800 Pro, DXP6800 Ultra and DXP8800 Ultra take 48GB modules, to 96GB with a pair.
How much memory does a NASync need?
| Use | Suggested total |
|---|---|
| File sharing, backup, photo library | 16GB |
| Several Docker containers, media server, surveillance | 32GB |
| Virtual machines alongside containers | 64GB |
| Several VMs or large caches on the Pro and Ultra models | 96GB |
Memory, not the drives, usually sets how many containers and virtual machines a NAS can run at once, and spare memory is used as file cache, which speeds up repeat reads. All-flash units such as the DXP480T Plus and eight-bay units such as the DXP8800 Plus serve more users and more data at once, so they benefit most from 32GB or more.
Models with soldered memory
The NASync DH2300 and DH4300 Plus and the iDX6011 and iDX6011 Pro AI NAS have memory soldered to the board. They have no memory slots and cannot be upgraded, so they are not listed.

Frequently asked questions
Which memory does my UGREEN NASync take?
The Intel-based DXP models (DXP2800, DXP4800, DXP4800 Plus and Pro, DXP480T Plus, DXP6800 Pro and Ultra, DXP8800 Plus and Ultra) take non-ECC DDR5 SODIMMs. The AMD-based DXP2800 GT and DXP4800 GT take DDR4 SODIMMs, ECC or non-ECC. Each NEMIX RAM listing is matched to one model and offers only the sizes and kits that fit it.
How much memory can I install in a DXP4800 Plus?
64GB, as two 32GB modules in its two slots. The DXP4800 Pro, DXP6800 Ultra and DXP8800 Ultra go to 96GB with two 48GB modules.
Can I put 32GB in a DXP2800 or DXP4800?
UGREEN rates the single-slot DXP2800 and DXP4800 for 16GB, but UGREEN's own memory compatibility list includes a 32GB module for both, so our listings offer 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. The new module replaces the factory 8GB module.
Does my UGREEN NAS support ECC memory?
Only the DXP2800 GT and DXP4800 GT, which take ECC or non-ECC DDR4 SODIMMs. The Intel DXP models take non-ECC DDR5. UGREEN's spec sheets list ODECC for those models: that is the on-die ECC inside every DDR5 chip, not support for ECC modules.
Can I mix the factory module with a NEMIX RAM module?
It can work if both match in generation, speed and type, but a matched pair is the dependable choice for dual-channel operation. On the GT models, never mix ECC and non-ECC modules.
Which UGREEN models cannot be upgraded?
The NASync DH2300, DH4300 Plus, iDX6011 and iDX6011 Pro have memory soldered to the board and no memory slots.
