This system runs two 1st or 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with 24 DDR4 DIMM slots (12 per processor), supporting up to 1.5TB of memory; Lenovo supports standard RDIMMs only in this system. Lenovo rates the platform at DDR4-2933 with 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors; 1st Gen processors, and some lower-tier 2nd Gen models, run memory at up to 2666 MT/s. These DDR4-2933 modules clock down automatically. With 1st Gen processors, Lenovo supports standard RDIMMs up to 32GB; choose the 16GB or 32GB modules, as the 64GB module requires 2nd Gen processors. Lenovo positions the ThinkSystem SR670 as a 2U GPU server for AI training, inference and HPC with up to four double-wide or eight single-wide GPUs. This platform takes registered ECC memory (RDIMM) only; unbuffered UDIMMs will not work. Use one module size and type throughout the server, and populate memory in the matched groups Lenovo specifies for each processor.
