Before you order
To confirm which Mac you have, open the Apple menu, choose About This Mac, then System Report, and read the Model Identifier line. Match it to the identifier shown on this page before you order. Identifiers in this range include iMac13,2 and iMac14,2 (27-inch, 2012 and 2013) and iMac15,1 (27-inch Retina 5K, Late 2014 and Mid 2015).
The 21.5-inch iMacs from these years have no memory door. The 2012 and 2013 21.5-inch models need the display removed to reach the memory, and the Late 2014 and 2015 21.5-inch models have memory soldered to the logic board, which cannot be upgraded.
