TerraMaster NAS memory follows the model number: the F-series desktops, T-series towers and U-series rackmounts each use SODIMM or UDIMM, and the newest -424, -425 and -500 models use DDR5. This guide matches your TerraMaster model to its module. The NEMIX RAM catalog lists 50 TerraMaster model listings, one per model, shown below by module type with a link to each. For part numbers and series pages, see the TerraMaster NAS memory hub and the TerraMaster NAS memory collection.
Step 1: Find your exact TerraMaster model and what is installed
The model is printed on the label on the unit, for example F4-424 Pro or U12-725 Plus. The last digits indicate the generation (-221, -423, -424, -425, -500, -725), and the suffix matters: an F4-424, F4-424 Pro and F4-424 Max are different machines. TOS, TerraMaster's operating system, shows installed memory on its system information page.
Step 2: Match the module type to your TerraMaster series
| TerraMaster series | Module type | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Older F-series desktops | DDR3L SODIMM, non-ECC | F2-221, F4-421, F5-221 |
| F, T and U series, -223, -423, -425 and -450 generations | DDR4 SODIMM, non-ECC | F4-423, T9-423, U8-450, F4-425 |
| U-series rackmount, -322, -522 and -722 generations | DDR4 UDIMM, non-ECC | U8-322-9100, U12-722-2224 |
| U-series rackmount, -725 generation | DDR4 ECC UDIMM | U8-725, U12-725 Plus, U16-725 Plus |
| F, T and U series, -424, -425 Plus/Pro and -500 generations; F SSD | DDR5 SODIMM, non-ECC | F4-424 Pro, F8 SSD Plus, T9-500 Pro, U8-500 Plus |
DDR3, DDR4 and DDR5 modules are keyed differently and do not fit each other's slots, and SODIMM and UDIMM are different sizes.
Step 3: Decide whether you need ECC
ECC memory detects and corrects single-bit errors. Within the TerraMaster catalog the ECC option is the U-series -725 rackmounts, which take ECC UDIMM; every other listed model uses non-ECC memory. ECC and non-ECC modules should not be mixed in one NAS, so use the listing for your exact model.
Step 4: Find your model below
Every model links to its listing. The last column shows the largest kit NEMIX RAM lists for the models in that row; the TerraMaster specification for your model sets the supported maximum.

TerraMaster's own memory modules
TerraMaster also sells branded modules under part numbers such as A-SRAMD5 (DDR5 SODIMM), A-SRAMD4 and A-URAMD4. Search by TerraMaster part number in the TerraMaster part number collection; the model listings above are matched to the same specifications.
Step 5: Choose capacity
A NAS uses RAM to cache frequently read data and to run apps. File serving alone needs little. Virtual machines, Docker containers, Plex or other media servers and surveillance recording all use more. Start from what is installed, add the workloads you plan to run, and use the largest kit your TerraMaster specification supports if you expect to grow. Several F-series models have a single memory slot, so one larger module is the upgrade path; fill multi-slot models with matched modules.
Step 6: Installing and checking
Shut the NAS down and unplug it, ground yourself, open the memory compartment and seat the module firmly until it clicks. After the first boot, confirm the full capacity in TOS.
Other brands are on the NAS memory by brand page, and the NAS memory guide covers choices that apply to every brand.
