Memory upgrades for Lenovo ThinkSystem and ThinkEdge servers, from the first-generation SR630 and SR650 to the current Xeon 6 and AMD EPYC 9005 V4 and V3 systems. This page holds two kinds of listings. Server listings (titled "Lenovo ThinkSystem" or "Lenovo ThinkEdge" plus the model) are matched to one server and offer every supported module size in single modules and matched kits. Part-number listings (titled with a Lenovo option part number such as 4X77A94004 or 4ZC7A08699) match one Lenovo memory option: use them when you are adding to modules you already have or ordering from a Lenovo quote. The fastest way to find yours is to type the Lenovo model into the search bar at the top of the page, for example SR650 V2, SR630, SR665 V3 or ST250 V2. The model name is on the front bezel or pull-out label, and the machine type (a four-character code such as 7X06) is on the system label and in Lenovo XClarity.
V4 (Intel Xeon 6): DDR5-6400 RDIMM, up to 5200 MT/s with two DIMMs per channel.
V3 (4th/5th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable, AMD EPYC 9004/9005): DDR5 RDIMM at 4800 to 6400 MT/s depending on the processor.
V2 (3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable) and AMD EPYC 7002/7003 models: DDR4-3200 RDIMM.
First generation (1st/2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable): DDR4-2933 RDIMM; 1st Gen processors run memory at 2666 MT/s.
Entry servers (SR250, ST250 and ST50 on Intel Xeon E, ST45 V3 on AMD EPYC 4004): ECC unbuffered UDIMM.
Memory rules across ThinkSystem servers
Match the generation: DDR5 servers (V3 and V4) take only DDR5 RDIMMs; DDR4 servers (V2 and earlier) take only DDR4. The modules are keyed differently and will not seat.
Registered or unbuffered, never both: rack, mission-critical and dense servers take registered memory (RDIMM, 3DS RDIMM or LRDIMM); the entry servers (SR250, ST250 and ST50 on Intel Xeon E, ST45 V3 on AMD EPYC 4004) take ECC unbuffered UDIMMs.
Use one module size and type per server and populate the matched channel groups Lenovo specifies for each processor: six or eight channels per processor on Intel Xeon Scalable, eight or twelve on AMD EPYC.
Each listing names the speeds Lenovo rates for that system; faster modules clock down automatically.
Buying in volume direct from NEMIX RAM
