Memory upgrades for the rack-mount Mac Pro introduced in 2020 (MacPro7,1). It takes the same memory as the 2019 Mac Pro tower.

Memory for the Mac Pro Rack (2020)

Type: DDR4 ECC registered (RDIMM) or load-reduced (LRDIMM) memory.
Slots: twelve.
RDIMM, DDR4 2933MHz: 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB modules, from a single 8GB module up to 768GB (12x64GB).
LRDIMM, DDR4 2933MHz: 64GB and 128GB modules, up to 1.5TB (12x128GB).
8-core model: DDR4 2666MHz RDIMM, because the 8-core processor runs memory at 2666MHz.

Before you order

To confirm which Mac you have, open the Apple menu, choose About This Mac, then System Report, and read the Model Identifier line. Match it to the identifier shown on this page before you order. The identifier for this model is MacPro7,1.

Do not mix RDIMM and LRDIMM in the same Mac Pro. Choose one type and use it in every slot you fill.

Apple supports 1.5TB only with the 24-core and 28-core processors. The other processors support up to 768GB.

For best performance Apple recommends filling slots in sets of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 matching modules.
